Welcome to the Year 5 blog! What an exciting year ahead we have! Please read the important information on this page and click on the news post at the bottom of the page to see our wonderful learning activities and experiences.
School uniform
Please ensure your child wears full school uniform now including black shoes. Children must bring their PE kit to school on Tuesdays (indoor and outdoor kit). Hi-Viz jackets MUST be worn every day as part of our school uniform. Buy one at the office if your child does not have one. Hi-Viz jacket, water bottles and book bags with their diary and reading book should be brought to school every day.
Homework: Monday
All homework will be checked on Monday. Children are expected to complete maths and grammar on mirodo, learn their spellings on spelling shed, read three times a week and record this in their diary using the sentence stems on page 11 of their diary.
Spelling test: Friday
Please make sure your child learns their 17 spellings each week using spelling shed.
Hometime
If you would like your child to walk home alone, please complete the parent permission form on the parentsapp.
Ensure you are checking the parentapp regularly for the latest school updates.

Our class charity is
BOLTON HOSPICE
This wonderful charity provides specialist care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice, at their wellbeing hub and at home. They are an independent charity and all of their services are free of charge.
Hospice care is not just a building, it is a way of caring for people. Their care aims to improve the lives of people whose illness may not be curable. They help people to live as actively as possible after diagnosis to the end of their lives, however long that might be. They place the highest value on respect and choice.
Throughout the year, 5M aim to raise as much money as possible for this charity. We will use our Enterprise week to raise money.
