Sports Funding

The Government is providing additional funding of £150 million to improve the provision of PE & sport in Primary Schools. The funding is being jointly provided by the Department for Education, Health & Culture, Media & Sport and will see the money going directly to primary schools for them to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all of their children.  At Clarendon we receive £19,500 per year to spend on sport and PE provision in our school.

We recognise the valuable contribution that Sport and PE make to the health and well-being of our children. We believe that an innovative and varied PE curriculum and extracurricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all children. Our Governors agree that the funding must be used so that all children benefit, regardless of their sporting ability.
